On Thursday, SpiceJet announced that some passengers were experiencing difficulties reaching its customer care helpline due to technical issues. The airline reassured customers that it is actively working to resolve these problems and restore normal service as quickly as possible.
Official Communication from SpiceJet
In a statement shared on X, SpiceJet mentioned, "We are currently facing intermittent issues with our customer care helpline. Our teams are diligently working to fix this situation. In the meantime, we encourage you to reach out to us via our official social media platforms for assistance. We appreciate your patience and will provide updates soon. We apologize for any inconvenience caused."
Minor In-Flight Incident
Additionally, a minor incident occurred on SpiceJet flight SG 1080 traveling from Goa to Pune on Tuesday, where a cosmetic window frame became loose during the flight. The airline clarified that this component is a non-structural trim piece primarily used for shading and did not compromise the aircraft's safety or integrity.
Safety Assurance from SpiceJet
A spokesperson for SpiceJet explained that the incident involved a superficial frame on one of the Q400 aircraft's windows, which became dislodged mid-flight. They emphasized, "This was merely a cosmetic window frame that became loose. It is crucial to note that this did not affect the aircraft's safety or structural integrity. Cabin pressurization remained stable throughout the flight, ensuring passenger safety was not compromised."
Commitment to Safety Standards
Despite the visual disruption, the airline confirmed that cabin pressurization was normal, and passenger safety was unaffected. SpiceJet highlighted that the Q400 aircraft is designed with multiple layers of window panes, including a strong outer pane that maintains safety even if cosmetic fittings are compromised. Passengers were never at risk, and the airline reiterated its dedication to upholding the highest safety standards. The loose frame was promptly repaired upon landing at the next destination, following standard maintenance protocols.
